REPRODUCTION UMBRELLAS - MID-19thC

music:

UmbrellasClosed (441k image)

Reproduction umbrellas for mid-19th century. To be used in 'living history' environment. These umbrellas will withstand day-to-day use and will be more suitable than using actual antique umbrella frames which are much more fragile. It is our belief that antique frames are better served when used for display such as in a museum, or where they will be used sparingly and with care.

The care taken in finishing all seams, as seen in both of these pop-ups:

10th ANNIVERSARY 1995 - 2005

Welcome to "Boutique", our venue to showcase some of our one-of-a-kind parasols and umbrellas. We will also provide you with up-dates on new products, fabrics and designs.

In celebration of our 10th anniversary, we have added 100% black silk fuji to our umbrella collection. Lime green and, hot pink/peach silk fuji are also now available. Additional silk fuji colours will be added throughout 2005, so check back periodically!

Of special interest, in the Spring of 2004, we were very proud to provide parasols and umbrellas for use during the production of "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events". And, in the Fall of 2004, we also provided parasols and umbrellas for the Broadway production of "Dracula, the Musical".

Simply decadent ! Simply Barrington Brolly.

Mid-19thC Parasol - SOLD

1867-Parasol (456k image)

A lady of means might have used a parasol similar to this while out for a stroll in the mid/latter part of the 19th century. It was not uncommon to see vibrant red lining for parasols, as well as the more common white. This particular parasol was commissioned to be part of a complete costume for use in a 'living history' museum in the Eastern United States. Who is she? The wife of a sea captain, or perhaps a wealthy merchant? Whoever she is, she is bound to create quite a stir with such a vibrant parasol to protect her skin from the elements.

COUNT DRACULA AND COUNT OLAF .. Both, count on Barrington Brolly

Barrington Brolly was extremely pleased to have provided the parasols and umbrellas used in the Broadway production of "Dracula the Musical", which recently ran at the Belasco Theatre, NYC. As one of the Count's disciples mused .... "Nice to have the approval of Transylvanian Royalty!" We agree.

Our products were also sought out by another person of royal stature ... Count Olaf! He would only settle for the best for his motly friends and (lovely) relatives while on site for the filming of "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events".
