FIRST NATIONS (COAST SALISH NATION) UMBRELLA ART HANDLES
We are so very pleased to add some very special handles for use on our umbrellas. The handles are all individually carved by artist Jim Yelton, a member of the Coast Salish Nation, who was born in Squamish, British Columbia.
Jim credits his father, Michael Yelton, as the one from whom he learned so much about Native traditions relating to his cultural background. For over 25 years, Jim has been carving plaques, masks, bowls, paddles and 'talking' sticks. Now he has produced some stunning umbrella handles for Barrington Brolly, each one carefully sculpted and signed by the artist - each one a unique piece of art.
Further details on these special handles will be forthcoming over the next few weeks. In the meantime, we provide close-ups of 3 of the handles.
